I am in a dark little cafe in the midst of monsoon rains, stinking curries and overly sweet tea. I am finally back in India!
A huge apology for not writing a post sooner. Here is the story so far:
I left home about a week ago after leaving my packing and Visa application way too late. I then got my plane to Malaysia and spent a day there visiting the tourist sites and checking out some local buddhist and hindu temples.
I then caught my Malaysia Airlines flight to Delhi which landed in the middle of the night. Scurring to my hotel in a pre-booked taxi I hauled my bags up to my air conditioned room. I payed a lot for that air conditioner but seeing as it was 39 degrees celcius outside and raining the AC was much needed – especially after a 12 hour flight. This first day in Delhi reminded me of how hard it was on my first trip and I was glad I had the experience to know how to get around, where to go and so on.
I then met some old friends in the main market of New Delhi at 6am the next day and we caught our ride up to the beautiful state of Himachal Pradesh. Here there are snow mountains, vast open spaces and lots of Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. This will be my home for the next three weeks or so.
So here I am in India and although I have lots to do I couldn’t help but think of you guys. I have so many posts to write about my experiences so far and I have only been here a few days. Over the next few weeks the posting will be more infrequent but make sure you subscribe because I will be posting a lot of photos and stories that will keep you entertained at work.
I also have a few guest posts lined up for you from a few writers who I know you are going to enjoy.
So, once again, sorry for the lack of posts but I will make up for it soon! Wish you were here!
