When you practice meditation, you move from identifying with and attaching ourselves to your negative thought patterns, and move towards accessing true awareness and consciousness. In this way, you are able to find your personal power.
Below is a meditation to help you regain your confidence and trust in yourself, free yourself from negativity, and find your personal power.
Begin in a comfortable seated position. Make sure to sit upright, with your hips grounded to the earth, your spine long, and the crown of your head reaching up towards the ceiling. You may also sit with your back against a wall or the backrest of a chair, to help you maintain your posture. Spread the collarbones, soften the jaw, and when you’re ready, close your eyes.
Start to visualize a warm light igniting at the pit of your belly. This light is your inner fire, that which will help restore confidence, self-assuredness, and trust into you. Observe how this light appears to you–is it flicker, similar to a tiny flame at the wick of a candle? Or is it like the incandescent glow of a firefly?
Allow that light to grow within you. As it spreads across you, feel its warmth. Visualize this light cleansing any negative emotion from your body, releasing your body of anything weighing you down. Let it dispel everything that no longer serves you.
As you continue to release yourself from negativity, start to harvest that inner power hidden with you instead. Feel it welling up inside of your pit of your belly, and spreading across the rest of your body together with that same light. Notice those feelings of courage, confidence, and trust filling you up.
When you are ready to end your meditation, let go of the image of this light. Come back to your body by wiggling your fingers and your toes. Then, open your eyes.
