Your throat chakra, also known as your vishuddha chakra, is associated with communication, self-expression, and speaking your inner truth. In order to balance your throat chakra, do exercises to help strengthen and stretch your neck, try a Reiki healing session, or surround yourself with the color blue.
Try this meditation below:
Meditation to Balance Your Throat Chakra
For this meditation, sit upright with your back against a wall. Soften your sitting bones down onto the mat, then lengthen the crown of the head towards the ceiling.
If your neck feels stiff or fatigued, feel free to roll the shoulders, circle the head, and do a few stretches to help release the cervical spine.
When you’re ready to begin your meditation, close your eyes.
Begin to visualize a vibrant blue wheel at the base of your neck. Notice it whirling within you. Feel its soothing, cooling vibrations. Recognize that this is your throat chakra.
Imagine this wheel opening up, inviting more positive energy into your system. In fact, allow it to grow larger, seeing and feeling its blue hue and lights spreading across the rest of your body. How does it make you feel?
As you recognize the emotions that this chakra brings up, look within and see what truths you have held inside of you–truths that you would now like to express.
Perhaps you would like to pursue a passion project, fight for something you believe in, or simply verbalize your affection to somebody you love. Notice any of these truths inside of you, perhaps floating in radiant, blue light.
As you recognize these truths, begin to repeat to yourself the following affirmations: I speak my truth freely and openly. My honesty attracts what I deserve. Allow these affirmations fill you with warm, happy, and positive feelings.
When you’re ready to end your meditation, let go of any images that you are visualizing. Ground yourself back into the present moment by wiggling your fingers and toes, feeling the weight of your body against the ground, and ultimately come back to the breath.
