Our past few meditations have allowed us to dive into our emotions, our energetic realm, and the mystery and wonder of the chakras. Today’s meditation will be about the sixth chakra, known as the ajna or third eye chakra. But how do you balance your third eye chakra?
The third eye chakra is associated with the color indigo. It’s responsible for intuition, perception, and insight. It helps govern wisdom and imagination. If your third eye chakra is blocked, you might be feeling detached from your purpose, out of touch with reality, but also out of touch with your dreams.
Here’s a meditation to help balance your third eye chakra.
Meditation to Balance Your Third Eye Chakra
Find a comfortable seated position. If you’re seated on the floor, try to have a back against the wall so you can sit upright.
Root your sitting bones down, and lengthen your spine up to the sky. Connect with your breath, and feel the natural rhythm of your inhalations and exhalations.
When you’re ready, close your eyes. Start to visualize the color indigo. Then, imagine this color within your forehead, in between your brows. Soften your eyes and forehead, allowing this color to relax you.
As you breathe, start to feel this sphere of energy grow and become more expansive. Allow it to spread across your head and face, and towards the rest of your body. Notice how it makes you feel, and let it dispel any stagnant, negative energy.
Finally, repeat the following affirmations to yourself: I see clearly. I trust my inner guidance. I hear my voice.
When you are ready to end your meditation, let go of this color. Ground yourself by feeling the weight of your body and once again, tuning into your breath.
After you open your eyes, check in for any insights that you may have gained from the meditation. The ajna chakra is responsible for inner knowledge and intuition, so take time to acknowledge any new lessons learned from this meditation.
