Using affirmations in your meditation practice can help you feel more self-assured, confident, and motivated. Moreover, they can also help you let go of negative thought patterns and welcome new, healthier beliefs. Here’s a meditation that includes affirmations for self-love and acceptance.
Affirmations for Self-Love and Acceptance
For this meditation, start in a comfortable, supine position. Lie down with your head supported by a soft pillow, or with a cushion supporting the back of your knees. Scan your body from the top of the forehead to your toes, feeling your body easy, restful, and heavy on the mat.
When you are ready, become aware of your breath. Allow your breath to flow easily and effortlessly, feeling the presence of your breath even in the smaller, more subtle areas of the body.
Begin your affirmation practice. Repeat the following statements to yourself: I am enough. I am worthy of love. Love flows within me. You may say these to yourself out loud, or say them quietly in your mind.
Repeat these affirmations three to five times. Try to linger on each word for a few seconds, and internalize each word. Pause after each statement, and allow yourself to be filled with warm, positive feelings.
When you are done repeating these affirmations, move on to a next set of statements.Repeat the following to yourself: I accept myself unconditionally. Loving myself comes easily and naturally. I receive love.
Similarly, repeat these affirmations to yourself three to five times. This time, visualize each statement healing you at a cellular level and closing all wounds from negative emotions and past traumas. Allow yourself to feel renewed and restored.
When you feel that your meditation is over, come back to the rhythm and cadence of your breath. Feel the weight of your body on your yoga mat or bed. Then, open your eyes and wake up to a renewed sense of self. These affirmations for self-love and acceptance will help you feel refreshed!
