You may be thinking that you don’t need to do anything to feel great about coming home after work. I agree with you! After all, there is nothing quite like the feeling of shutting your laptop down, walking out that door, and walking (or driving) home at the end of a work day, is there?
Be that as it may, there is always some room for improvement. Especially in the area of making yourself feel good.
But what can you do to give yourself a “high” in the evening when your comforting home welcomes you?
Try developing good morning habits. Habits that will make sure your home doesn’t stress you out when you enter the door.
These morning habits are all about preparing the house for a warm welcome. If you’re a naturally neat person, then you may already be doing most of these things. If not, don’t run away. These good morning habits are easy to build, and it only takes a few minutes of your time.
So, what are these habits? The infographic below will give you detailed tips, but here’s a summary to entice you try building these morning habits. Now, remember…if you think that these activities are annoying – especially in the morning – they’ll feel natural after a while; and the small effort will be well worth it when you don’t have to deal with a mess at night.
- Make the bed.
- Put away your laundry.
- Lay out something comfy.
- Tidy your toiletries.
- Open a window.
- Replace your towels.
- Tidy the kitchen countertops.
- Group the ingredients for dinner.
- Prepare a treat for yourself.
- Declutter the coffee table.
- Plump up the sofa pillows.
- Open the blinds or curtains.
- Hang up your coats and other knick-knacks.
- Place a vase of flowers where you see it first thing when you open the door.
- Use a fragrance diffuser.
Understandably, not all of these habits will apply to you, but do try out those that you think will help. My personal suggestions are using a fragrance diffuser (which you don’t have to do every morning!) and putting a vase of flowers near the entrance.
What’s your choice?
