Sometimes work is so boring you just want to kill yourself. It is in times like those that millions of workers around the world forget about their deadlines and their workplace policies and look for cheap sources of entertainment on the web. Here are 10 websites that make my workday a little more entertaining.

1. I Can Has Cheezeburger
This website has taken the world by storm. It is a simple idea but it is one that has brought happiness to millions of people. The concept is simple: people send in their photos of funny cats and everyone thinks up a funny comment to put on the photo. Here is an example:

An Example

It is all good humor and it is updated many times per day. Be careful - it is addictive. I check it several times each day.

2. Wikipedia
Good old Wiki has seen me through many boring workdays. Quite often at lunchtime someone will bring up a topic I know nothing about. I then go back to my PC and look it up on Wikipedia. It is always there and the information is usually pretty good. If it isn’t good, you can edit it!

3. Facebook
Facebook is the biggest time wasting website that has ever been created in the history of the planet. My girlfriend spends hours and hours looking for new friends and applications that she can add to her profile. Facebook is particularly wasteful on Monday morning because everyone is posting photos and events from the weekend. If you need to waste several work hours then you should sign up for an account and go crazy.

4. Real Muscle Online
This is a website that I find pretty addictive. It is devoted to providing information about intense training methods and gives lots of tips and hints to bodybuilders and athletes. I am a long time martial arts trainer and I love to see what they are on about. Quite often it is a great “how to” article about using household items for your fitness workouts.

5. Youtube
Again, this isn’t very “underground” but it really has provided me with hours and hours of entertainment at work. I am particularly fond of looking up Ali G or Borat clips. Sometimes a little bit of humor injected into your day can make the day seem a lot less intense.

6. Zen Habits
The guy behind this site is a genius. His writing style is soft and relaxing and I love to start my day off with a quick read of his work. Zen Habits is about making your life a little more “zen”. Sometimes he gives productivity tips and sometimes he gives lifestyle tips. Check it out because it is always worth your while.

7. College Humor
College kids are idiots. They really are. But more often than not they are pretty damn entertaining. This website has a whole staff of idiots dedicated to bringing you the funniest clips, movies and links going around. I sometimes find their jokes a little tasteless but you will always find something entertaining on this site. Oh… yeah… they got girls too.

8. StumbleUpon
Stumble isn’t really a website as much as it is a social media bookmarking toolbar. All you do is go to the website, sign up, install the toolbar and start stumbling. The idea is that you “stumble” things that you like and browse things that other people have stumbled. I waste more time stumbling through funny images on my stumble toolbar than I do on anything else. It really is an entertaining little idea.

9. Dosh Dosh
I am always interested in how to make money online. I like to supplement my “normal” job with some online income and Dosh Dosh is a website that show you the best ways to make money while building yourself an online reputation. However, if making money online isn’t your thing Dosh Dosh will help you broaden your business ideas and give you new things to think about. I have had several “eureka!” moments while reading this site.

10. Defamer
Defamer is pretty famous now. You can visit this site to get all your celebrity gossips needs. The good thing about Defamer is that they have so much “clout” in the industry now that they get a lot of exclusives and juicy rumors. If you are looking for a site that is a lot like a gossip magazine then this one is for you - lots of defaming rumors all in one place.

I am seriously addicted to Facebook. I think it is actually one of the worst things that has ever happened to me. I cannot work unless I have looked at at least 10 people’s profiles. It is really freaken bad.

Zen Habits looks great thanks, a parallel blog to this one in a sense! :-)

Cheers for the tip.
